LEARN. DISCOVER. ENGAGE.
at the 2015 Midwest Veterinary Conference!
On behalf of the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, I cordially invite you to the 2015 Midwest Veterinary Conference. The volunteers of the MVC Education Committees have brought together an exceptional offering of top speakers to enlighten, educate and inspire us with fascinating new research and discoveries.
Your Association is proud that the Midwest Veterinary Conference has become a pre-eminent regional meeting and continues to grow each year. We are bringing speakers from the four corners of the United States—and most of the states in between. We are not a national meeting (yet!), but our “region” certainly is bigger than you might expect. Don’t be surprised if you run into an out-of-state colleague; please be sure to welcome them to the conference (and thank them for braving the Ohio winter).
In the past, our excellent speakers have frustrated me (in a good way, of course), as on more than one occasion I wished I could be in two or three lecture halls simultaneously. And it appears that the Education Committees have done it to us again this year! Practice management expert Dr. Ernie Ward, financial authority Denise Tumblin, and safety guru Philip Seibert are just a few of this year’s speakers. Fortunately, Dove Multimedia can be in multiple places at once, and I will likely make a stop at their booth to load up on recordings before I head home Sunday. The recorded lectures have been a good use of time on cold mornings at my home in the Northeast Ohio snowbelt. Speaking of snow—what better way to spend a winter day in Central Ohio than with your colleagues, learning something new (or relearning something long forgotten)? Welcome to Columbus!
When you’re not in sessions, spend some time in our expansive Exhibit Hall. Besides providing information on their products and services and keeping you up to date on industry trends, these companies support our Conference and make it possible to keep registration fees low. Not to mention, attendees have the chance to win cash prizes as part of the Exhibit Hall Fast Cash Raffle, sponsored by ASPCA Pet Health Insurance and Abaxis. We hope you take the time to thank these participating companies for their support, so they keep coming back year after year!
I am particularly looking forward to our MVC Sunday Lunch keynote speaker: Dean of the New Mexico State University College of Agriculture, Dr. Lowell Catlett is an economist by training—but an optimist by nature. His presentation guarantees to inspire and energize us as we head home Sunday, eager to get back to work on Monday morning. Please plan to attend this event, which (thanks to support from Zoetis) is complimentary to all attendees.
And finally—see you next year!
