The Midwest Veterinary Conference (MVC), hosted by the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA), is a growing, regional veterinary conference packed with educational, networking and social opportunities for every member of the veterinary team. The live, in-person portion of the MVC is held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, Hall A (400 N. High St., Columbus, Ohio 43215 – map) and the Hyatt Regency Hotel (350 N. High St., Columbus, Ohio 43215 – map).

Visit the Travel & Hotels page for driving directions and parking information.

The OVMA reserves blocks of discounted rooms at area hotels for MVC attendees. Visit the Travel & Hotels page for hotel contact information, rates and other travel details as it becomes available.

Keep in mind that the MVC is not just an educational event, but a networking event as well! Therefore, we recommend business casual attire. You may wish to dress in layers, as meeting room temperatures can vary.

We love them as much as you do, but Convention Center regulations and health department codes prohibit pets. In keeping with the law, only service animals are permitted. Please help us not disappoint your pet by making them have to go home early!

OVMA strongly encourages attendees to be fully vaccinated prior to the conference, but it is not required at this time.

The Virtual MVC begins the week after the live conference concludes.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer live streaming of the MVC for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Financial — It is extremely costly to stream a live event. We would have to pass that additional cost on to our attendees and exhibitors. We prefer instead to keep our registration rates low.
  • Logistical — In the event of a power outage or internet surge during the conference, virtual attendees would lose access to their sessions, if we were streaming live.
  • Technical — Installing hard-wired internet access in every session room would be extremely time consuming and, again, expensive. Additionally, we would need to contract an A/V team for each room to set up/tear down audio and video equipment, monitor the live feed and volume levels, and troubleshoot any problems that arise.

All OVMA staff are on site at the GCCC during the live conference; therefore, it is not possible to upload the videos immediately. Opening the Virtual MVC a few days later allows our small association staff to process and upload the video recordings, ensure they are working properly, and work with the A/V team on any problems that arise.
