COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
OVMA is tracking the COVID situation daily and getting feedback from members with public health expertise. Based on reports from health officials, the omicron variant is expected to peak in Ohio in mid- to late January, so we are hopeful that the spread of the virus will slow by mid-February.
To that end, OVMA is moving ahead with both the in-person and virtual portions of the conference. If that changes, we will contact registered attendees and post details on our COVID updates page and social media.
OVMA strongly encourages attendees to be fully vaccinated prior to the conference, but it is not required at this time.
Both the MVC and our facility hosts will continue to provide various enhanced cleaning and health safeguards. We will follow state and local requirements for our attendees' health and will advise those attending in-person of any such requirements.
Currently, the city of Columbus has a mask mandate in place, but that may change. We will notify attendees of any requirements in February.
If you prefer to take a "wait and see" approach, you can absolutely do that. Registration for the in-person conference will be available both online and on site through Saturday, Feb. 19.
Individuals who are uncomfortable with attending an in-person event and/or are unvaccinated are encouraged to register for the Virtual MVC. Registration will remain open, so you may sign up anytime through May.
Anyone who has already registered may convert their in-person registration to virtual-only upon request.
